Wanderlust

Traveling and exploring new places has always been one of my favorite past times. I have been to France three times, Iceland, Ireland, England, Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean. One of my favorite visits to France, I spent the summer living in a house in the south of France. This spark for the love of the unknown was brought upon because I grew up ten minutes from Washington D.C., one of the epicenters of the world. I am enthralled with big cities and living so close to the nation’s capital gave me an appreciation for the way cities can come alive. I went to college in the countryside of Virginia and I could not wait to get back to the allure of a major metropolis. During my younger years, I attended The British School of Washington, an international school located in D.C. and this perked my interest in the world beyond the bubble of America. The way I see it, I would much rather pay for moments and experiences rather than material things and possessions; therefore the thrill of exploration will always stay atop my favorite hobbies.

The Written Word

Ever since I can remember, I have always been infatuated with telling a story. When I was in third grade, I self-published a book of poems. When I was in seventh grade, I improved upon this book of poems by writing an updated version in an English class. By the time I became a junior in high school, I had begun to write novels for fun. As of right now, I have around four unfinished manuscripts sitting on my desktop, just waiting to be completed. I started writing a book titled “Suburban Riot” in high school and college (see description below). At the age of seventeen, I even sent out query letters to agents and publishing houses in hopes of getting some sort of feedback to further my hobby as a writer. Additionally, I took many creative writing classes in college to better my craft. Writing has always been a cathartic outlet for me that I pride myself on perfecting day in and day out.

Suburban Riot

Suburban Riot is set to the party scene of Bethesda, Maryland an affluent suburb outside
of Washington D.C. This is a gritty, true story of a disconnected teenager that faces a constant battle between himself and the role he is supposed to play in society.

Life as Graham knows it, is different than most. That can be said about anyone’s life; but for Graham, every day is a new problem. From, a new found sense of false love, to being stuck in the middle of a parent’s unavoidable divorce; his life is unpredictable. As Graham embarks on a journey towards adulthood; he questions the very fabric of society that his fellow peers hold so dear. And time after time he finds himself getting lost between the morals of society and the morals of himself. But at the very same time he, unlike others, is aware of the constant void between success in the public eye and true happiness. This is not just another coming of age tale; this the true story of the life of a disheartened teenager living in the fast-paced city of Bethesda, Maryland. Welcome to disturbia.

Drum Roll Please…

I have been to over 40 concerts and 10 music festivals. The third hobby on my list is music. I love all aspects of it and I can thank my family for this because I was surrounded by the smooth sounds of the saxophone and clarinet growing up. My brother played these instruments for the majority of his life and he even attended The Eastman School of Music. I was dragged to shows, both classical and more my speed, rock, by my family and I cannot thank them enough for it. I have attempted to play the drums, guitar, piano, and oboe. Nothing stuck, but my love was still there. I showcase this the only way I know how, live shows.
